We've Got The Goods To Get The Job Done
(First We Need To Use What God Has Already Given Us)

by Brother L. Harrell

    • reject bad reports
    • reject disunity
    • reject other gods
    • reject pride
    • reject respect of persons
    • reject selfish agendas
    • reject unforgiveness
    • reject unholy alliances
    • reject unthankfulness
    • reject all works of the flesh

Apostolic Pentecostals have the goods to get the job done that God has ordained us to do. When we follow His plan, His yoke is easy, and His burden is light. God has given us His Spirit to teach, encourage, comfort and edify. God has ordained brethren to teach, encourage, comfort and edify.

1 Thessalonians 5:9-13 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

God has anointed us brethren among us to hold our arms up and equip saints for the work of service, to the building up the body of Christ. When we obey the Spirit, and walk in faith and according to His divine order, no weapon formed against us will prosper.  We are not independent of each other:  Reflect on Joshua 7:1.  When Achan took the accursed thing, the anger of the LORD was kindled against
Israel.  (Instead of a Babylonian garment, we may have a Babylonian spirit of rebellion:  disobedience to the Spirit [and those who rule over us], pride, selfishness, etc.)

We must not be like the unprofitable servant Jesus speaks of in Matthew 25, who does not put his talent to use. We should not be surprised when we do not progress in the Lord's affairs, and seem to be like a truck spinning it's wheels in the mud (or sliding backwards), if we have not fully utilized those God has sent to labor among us.

1 Corinthians 12:28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

1 Corinthians 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Overseers / bishops mentoring bishops, prophets, teachers and others as God has purposed.  Bishops must have unimpeded / unfettered access to members and the affairs of the assembly as necessary. (You can't have oversight over something that you do not have full access to).  Overseers / bishops imparting spiritual gifts, ordaining, setting up / establishing, overseeing, etc.

The prophets must be fully utilized as God has purposed: strengthening, encouraging, comforting, asserting, confirming, interpreting, interceding, etc.  (The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets).  Prophesy must not be despised and the Spirit not quenched.  Pastors, evangelist, ministers, teachers must be unhindered from teaching, mentoring, evangelizing, proclaiming the gospel, etc., as led by the Spirit.  Healings, helps, administrations, various tongues, need to be in operation (all gifts and callings God has given should be employed).

Romans 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.

Ephesians 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

We Apostolic Pentecostals have the signs that follow the believers of Jesus. These signs confirm the word to a doubting world that is looking for some salt with saltiness. We have power to cast out devils, speak with new tongues, power to tread on serpents and scorpions, lay hands on the sick, and they will be healed. These gifts are given to us by God.

Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

The enemy wants to hamper us with bitterness, envy and unforgiveness, etc. We must not let the accuser impede us with his subtle tricks and hindrances.  We can not listen to bad reports that undermine our faith and spirit (reports from physicians, media news reports, lawyers, friends and family ungodly faith, operating in the council of the ungodly, etc.).  We must reject carnal solutions, and carnal council (which are enmity to God, and denies His power and His word).  We can not let unbelief and frustration, set into our heart (frustration results from unbelief). Unbelief will undermine faith of deliverance and cleansing:

Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

We can not be worrisome about anything (wavering faith), but keep our minds on the things of God and promises of God (He can not lie, and will not forsake us, if we do not forsake Him). When we get our minds on His Word and His promises, we get truth in our mouths and hearts, allowing the manifestation of the promises of God.

Philippians 4:6-9 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

When problems are overbearing, something is wrong.  We should not be over stressed, have burnout, be overloaded, over fatigue, dysfunctional, frustration, excessive complaining, or anxiety.  Those do not sound like attributes of someone who is believing God for victory.  These fleshly / carnal emotions (faithlessness) nullify the prayer of faith (see James 1:6-7).  To be frustrated is:  feeling dissatisfied and/or defeated due to unfulfilled needs and/or unresolved problems.  When expressing frustration and complaining, we are saying that God is not adequately solving this situation.  (Read Romans 10:10 Above)

We need to evaluate the situation and make sure we are walking in faith and obedience.  We need to make sure we are right with God, and have to obeyed the plan of salvation: repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, have Holy Ghost evidenced by speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterance, and living in peace and holiness.  We must make sure we get the proper rest our bodies need, which includes the day of rest.  We must set aside proper time to commune with and receive instructions from the Lord, through the Holy Ghost.  We need to be led by the Spirit with the fruit of the Spirit evident in all our endeavors, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, and cause God's wrath to be set against us (instead of having His benefits). The Lord needed to break down King Jehoshaphat's ships due to his unholy alliances [See II. Chronicles 20:37]). Ahaziah, King of Judah was in support of the wrong side as Syria and King Jehu performed God's judgment upon the King of Israel.  How can we be blessed when we are supporting the ungodly?  Saints supporting the enemy cause God's people to go against God's people.  When a saint is carnal, the carnal saints would use their resources to go against the spiritual saints.  How could God bless such a man?  We can't prosper being like Balaam, trying to curse the people that are blessed. (See Numbers 22:12)  If speaking a prophetic word:  If we one minute speak as an ambassador of God, then the next minute speak as the enemy, who can receive a word (not knowing who is speaking, God or man)?

Matthew 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:

The church is capable of providing financial resources to achieve numerous goals.  Much time and money may be wasted on unfruitful agendas. The church needs to be united, and stand on God's promises to supply our needs as individuals.  If we do not see the abundant material provisions we desire or need, the problem may be because we have closed fists, and/or have placed other priorities higher than the house of God.  The saints supply the church needs, and the Lord supplies the saints’ needs. Even a situation of life and death must not stop the tithes and offerings from coming into the house of God.

II Corinthians 9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Instead of listening to, and relying on God, numerous saints support ecumenical organizations (apostate / false church) and functions. Many dollars are spent at hospitals owned and operated by persons and religious institutions which communicate with and obey demons.  Supporting such facilities strengthens the hand of the enemy. The enemy then places his yoke of bondage on the strong man he is about to spoil (the enemy binds to oppress, devastate and destroy the saint of God).

Saints claim they have no choice but to support various worldly associations, activist organizations and groups, etc., saying we have to pick the least of two evils (to support the carnal / worldly agendas). Demon controlled secret societies are full of people who claim to love the Lord. Ungodly political parties receive large quantities of money and/or time, which God has entrusted the saints with to spread the gospel around the world.  Instead of depending on God, He is robbed to appease the flesh, the enemy, and his agendas.  Instead of us teaching others to rely on God, we are supporting efforts to survive without depending on Jesus.  God must be trusted to turn the heart of the king, but saints have put all their hope on lying politicians to support their carnal civil and religious rights.  God must be trusted to heal the sick, and to do the impossible.  (The just shall live by faith).

We must not fear other gods. Without faith it is impossible for us to please Him (See Hebrews 11:6). Whatever we do that does not proceed from faith is sin (See Romans 14:23)

We must not operate in our own power, but submit to our brothers and sisters God has given us, with the Holy Ghost.  Have we used what God has given us?  If so, have we asked, and are believing with faith for God to intervene?  We should not be surprised if God does not supply us with extra resources, when we haven't used what has already been provided.

1 Peter 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

1 Corinthians 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NKJV) Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV)  And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Some of us ask God to send His glory on us.  We ask Him to let His Spirit fill the room, pouring His anointing on us.  But, many are drawn to what has not been blessed (first-day of week respect), instead of being drawn to what has been blessed (seventh-day of week respect [See Genesis 2:3]).  Then, we say “Lord we want more of your blessing”.  ("Sunday" is not the Sabbath).

While the Lord being merciful and longsuffering, does bless us to a degree in spite of many people being irreverent to Him (disrespecting His desires), how much more blessing there could be for us if we all operated according to His will!  It should not be a surprise that we are not walking in the apostolic anointing as manifested in the book of Acts as we should when we are doing our own thing.  (If you are not sure if the seventh-day of the week is His Holy Day and should be regarded as such, ask Him and see!)

We need to remain full of the Holy Ghost, seeking to know more of God and obeying His voice (with prayer, fasting, thanksgiving, praise, the word, etc.), ensuring we are walking according to His divine plan and order.  We've got the goods to get the job done, and have a willing Father to supply our every need.  First we need to use what God has already given us.  Not by might, nor by power, but by His spirit.

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

I pray that God, the Almighty, grants you a victorious walk in love, faith and unity, as we together tear down the strongholds of the enemy, in Jesus' name.
